PINK FLOYD LEGEND GETS SIGNATURE GUITAR MADE

Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour's famous black stratocaster has been made into a Fender 'Signature Model' and will be available to buy from September 22.

The guitar, which has been replicated from the one Gilmour used on classic Floyd albums such as ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’, ‘Wish You Were Here’ and ‘The Wall,’ will feature his playing's distinctive sound.

Gilmour says: "I told Fender that it was just an ordinary Strat that I bought, but I must say they’ve done a great job of recreating it."

The new ‘Black Strat’, will feature the same maple neck, black pick guard, shortened tremolo arm and custom electronics as the original and will come housed in a custom black case with a copy of a book 'The Black Strat’ giving the guitar's history, by David Gilmour’s guitar technician Phil Taylor.

The signature model guitar will be released at the same time as Gilmour's triple live album 'Live In Gdansk', recorded last year on his solo world tour.

LED ZEPPELIN COLLABORATION WITH FOO FIGHTERS MAKES DVD

Foo Fighters are to release a live DVD of their Wembley Stadium shows which took place last month, and featured a surprise collaboration with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

The 18 track live DVD is culled from the Foo Fighters' two nights, playing in the 'round' of the stadium on June 7 and 8, and the collaboration on the second night saw the band, Page and Jones perform Led Zep classics "Rock and Roll" and "Ramble On".

The collaboration was Zeppelin's first appearance since the band played a one-off gig in December 2007.

Grohl told the crowd on the night: "We are going to do something special tonight that we have never done before. Tonight will be the show we are talking about for the next 20 years."

As the show closed Grohl, was visibly overcome with emotion as he told the crowd: "Welcome to the greatest day of my whole entire life.”

'Foo Fighters: Live At Wembley Stadium' will be released on August 23. The full track listing is:

Dream Theater Live DVD Sets to be Released in September

Few bands inspire such fanaticism among their fans as Dream Theater. The best way to satiate this dedicated legion is to provide them with even more material to devour and Dream Theater are doing just that this September. The band will release Chaos In Motion 2007/2008, which documents their "Chaos In Motion" world tour, which kicked off June 3, 2007 at the Monsters of Rock Festival in Milan, Italy and concluded almost a year to the day later on June 4, 2008 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's essentially a travelogue of their most recent touring experience and it hits shelves on September 23. Chaos In Motion 2007/2008 will be available in two configurations: as a double DVD set and as five disc collector's set which includes two DVDs and three CDs, containing 14 live tracks featured in the DVD set and expanded artwork.
